Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks his maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 victories at 21 distinct competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

His retrieving strategy and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an better service.

He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 initial break points in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
